I know, I know. You live in Hawaii. I still see a lot of chimneys, though. The weather in Waimea is all over the map. It still gets down to near-freezing in the winter, and sometimes it’s just too hot in the summer. We rely on our HVAC systems to ensure a comfortable home environment. But when they don’t work, maintaining home comfort is impossible.
IT’S OK TO WANT AIR CONDITIONING
In Waimea, it seems weird to want AC. It’s air-conditioned all the time! But air “conditioning” does two things: it cools the air, and it dehumidifies a bit. AC will help dehumidify your house, which can help make your house healthier. But…are you sure you need AC? Maybe you just need a big dehumidifier.
This year was hotter than last year. Next year will be hotter than this year. It’s not your fault that AC is becoming more of a “need” than a “want.”
A WORD ON THE “V”
HVAC stands for “Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning.” If you don’t worry about the “V,” then you’re just a “HAC.”
