I know, I know.  You live in Hawaii.  I still see a lot of chimneys, though.  The weather in Waimea is all over the map. It still gets down to near-freezing in the winter, and sometimes it's just too hot in the summer.  We rely on our HVAC systems to ensure a comfortable home environment.  But when they don't work, maintaining home comfort is impossible.

I am well-versed in the finer points of today’s high-performance cooling and heating systems, and I will right-size HVAC equipment for your home to ensure maximum performance.  I take the Goldilocks approach: Not too big (which will lead to temperature swings), not to small (which won't keep up), but juuuuust right.

The Importance of Preventative Maintenance

When you buy a new heating and cooling system, it’s important that it operates at peak capacity for as long as possible.  Some HVAC equipment is capable of running properly, without intervention, for years...but we shouldn't ignore it.  It's like your car.  You could forget to change the oil after 3,000 miles and probably be OK, but if you went 30,000 miles without changing it, that's bad for the engine.  As with any other type of equipment, your heating & cooling system must be cleaned and maintained regularly to catch any issues that pop up.

Upgrading to Modern Cooling and Heating Systems

While older systems can be kept alive and functioning for many years, like Frankenstein, that's not to say that they're capable of operating anywhere near the capacity of modern HVAC equipment.  Today’s high-performance heating and cooling systems are expertly designed to ensure that energy costs are kept to a bare minimum without sacrificing home comfort, and they effectively pay for themselves over time.

Air Conditioning is Not Evil

In Waimea, it seems weird to want AC.  It's air-conditioned all the time!  But air "conditioning" does two things: it cools the air, and it dehumidifies.  AC will help dehumidify your house, which can help make your house healthier.  But...are you sure you need AC?  Maybe you just need a big dehumidifier.

A word on the "V"

HVAC stands for "Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning."  If you don't worry about the "V," then you're just a "HAC."  Every project I do includes an assessment of how healthy your house is.

Terrawatt is proud to work with some of the most energy efficient heating and cooling systems on the market. We’ll work with you to find the HVAC system that is right for your home, taking time to size it properly and answer any questions you may have before, during and after the installation process.
